If Astrology cannot be practical, why bother with it? That is what I think, anyway. I have written many articles on Dejanira. I understood her, intellectually, but not emotionally. You may say that it is funny how that could be. Well, one cannot understand things emotionally until one’s heart opens to them. I have Dejanira conjunct the Child Asteroid. This shows I would be victimized as a child. The single worst placement of any asteroid is Moon conjunct Dejanira. This, always, shows sexual abuse . It fragments the person. I have had one person tell me she was not sexually abused. I have to wonder if she blocked it, as every other person with Dejanira conjunct the Moon was. If there was not sexual abuse, there was severe emotional abuse.
Dejanira conjuct the Moon severely fragments the personity. Dejanira conjunct the North Node makes one’s life a personal search to understand Dejanira.This usually involves personal abuse. Then, the person may be an advocate for others. Dejanira conjunct the ASC will call abuse to one. This will be a subconscious thing, as no one calls abuse to themselves, consciously.
At any rate, I can talk about Dejanira in an intellectual way but she hit me in an emotional way, today. It was because of an e mail one from of my most beloved clients. I am so proud of her. She is an English Professor. I take great pride in telling people this.

this is her natal chart. It’s mercury sq neptune not trine. Her mercury is in Virgo, and it squares neptune in Sag. Her songs are always frustrated, it could be the neptune trying to come out orderly through her merc in virgo.

You know. Adele does not have that dissonance that Amy has. I wonder if that Nep/Merc square is one of the reasons.
Regarding mental illness, that is a broad concept. Most people are mentally ill trying to fit into the norm . I think a square or inconjunct is a sign of frustration, and when it is dealt to mercury, a delicate planet, it can make the mind go off kilter, but I won’t go so far as to say it is mental illness. It’s more like a mind that can go sideways as far as the outer planet allows. For instance, the merc sq Neptune can enter into deep trances of depression or dystopian type settings. A merc sq Uranus can enter into frenzied uncontrolled bouts of otherworldly thoughts. Mental illness is a spiritual disease. You cant find it in the chart.

I have an interesting aside about Virgo and Libra Venus. They do not get Gemini Venus’ humor. I have had so many experiences with my Virgo venus friend who finds nothing funny that I do. My Libra Venus son is a bit better but not too much.

To me, the way to learn asteroids is to find one which is a perfect fit for the person. Then, one can use this asteroid in other charts and see how it plays out. After a few times of this, one has a sense of that asteroid and can feel it in people. There is very little practical info out there about Asteroids imo

I was thinking of something B. Paul McCartney has Quoar conj his Merc. Quoar is pure, out of the box genius. I feel that in Amy. I think that is what may have made her unique. Einstein had it conj his ASC. It is a very powerful asteroid when it touches personal places in the chart. Mohammud Ali had it conjunct Mars.
Amy had to have some sort of prominent Eros or Sappho, I would think, too. If not, there may have been another similar asteroid giving her that sultriness.
More specifically, my husband was born with virgo sun conjunct virgo deja, & my father has the same conjunction in earlier degrees of virgo.

To me, Sun conj deja would not be good. I call them as I see them. The Sun is one’s ego, one’s basic identity. You want a strong, confident one, ideally. Deja makes one a victim. It is not one’s fault. The chart is what it is, good and bad. Deja feels he is powerless. He feels he can’t make moves in his own behalf. He is like a dog who has been hit too many times and cowers in the corner. This is too strong of an example but still the same feel, in my opinion. Does that fit? xx
