Being In Touch With Your Emotions

306982_374783555921435_1033480259_nI admire people who are in touch with their emotions. I struggle to know what I am feeling. I am not alone in this. I have Moon conjunct the MC. I bring my heart, with all it’s flaws and struggles, to the fore. This question is one of those questions.

If you have Moon trine the Sun. How does that feel to you? If you have Moon conjunct the Sun, how does that feel? If you have Moon oppose the Sun, how does that feel? If you have Moon square the Sun, how does that feel?

Let me pose some ideas. I would think that Moon trine the Sun would be the best possible one to have. I think this person would feel connected with his emotions in the way that a light switch is connected to electricity. One flows into the other. Moon trine Sun feels like it would be an effortless connection to the emotions. I would love to have this!

I am perplexed at how Moon conjunct Sun would work out. Would it be too close or would it be like Moon trine Sun? I need your experience on this.

Moon square Sun would be the hardest. I would think that this person makes a separate compartment for his emotions and his “self”. This person could be two people in the sense that he is either the emotional one or the “world oriented one”.

Moon oppose Sun seems like it would produce a see-saw effect. The person may feel his emotions but not know how to incorporate them into his life with an easy flow. He may yin/yang between being stuck in his emotions and discounting them. I see this as a see-saw. It is on one end or the other but not both, at the same time.

I look forward to your answers!

I have the sun square moon, IT feels like a see-saw sometimes Im motivated sometimes im just not in the mood. Moodiness is somewhat common with this placement. Sometimes the emotions and ambition are not aligned but sometimes they are. When they are aligned I accomplish quite a bit

Also people with a 4th house sun are in tuned with their feelings and emotions. I have friends with this aspect

I have moon in Virgo trine sun in Taurus.

I am not sure how adequately I can describe it, as I have no other experience to compare it against…

But, I can say that I feel like I am always conscious of my feelings; that is, I’ve never truly had the experience of being “surprised” by one. It’s for this reason, generally, that I never find myself operating out of unconscious motives, I think. I’m always aware of all the layers of my motives, for good or for ill. lol

I also think that it may be why I’ve never had any problem consciously (and publically) acknowledging my “dark side,” or shadow. (Or is that my 3 personal planets in the 8th house, or my Pluto conj. ASC?) For me, my baser feelings and shadow stuff have always been “in the light of day” for me (my consciousness) too – so I’m used to owning them, seeing them clearly, and analyzing them. I also have an acceptance of all of my feelings (light and dark/heavy). I don’t feel undue embarrassment or shame over them, really, or try to hide them or act like they’re not there. I simply accept that I have them (and that everyone has them), and use my knowledge of their presence to apply my mind to working with, or around, them. To consciously choose what gets expressed and what I control, acknowledge, and work on, privately, inside.

Well, it’s not ALL good: It makes it hard to understand and empathize with people who struggle with the behaviour that can come out of their turbulent feelings, sometimes. In other words, it lends toward being judgmental, in my personal experience. :/

I have had to learn many lessons in compassion and not judging people so harshly, when it comes to people who have more emotional outbursts, who are more “reactive,” or who more frequently operate out of emotions immediately and instinctually before applying their conscious mind to things, first.

So, while it’s good to me (makes life easier on me), it hasn’t necessarily been as good for me, for my empathy towards others who struggle more. Do you see what I mean?

I think every blessing is a mixed one. 😉

Can you help me understand what it is like to not “know” what you are feeling? Do you just mean, to not be able to ‘name’ it, or…? (*needs the primer version of this* xD lol)

Great question, Ferry. I will give an example. I was in a bad relationship. The person was treating me badly. I told someone close to me. Instead of being on my side, she became friends with the person who was abusing me. She saw NOTHING wrong with it. Her reasoning was that I should not make her choose. Meanwhile, she was MY close relative. She had no sense that she had to choose. She had no sense that *I* wanted to feel that someone was on my side and that I needed that support. She was clueless and still is, to this day, although she finally did what I asked but still did not UNDERSTAND why I needed it and wanted it. Do you know what I mean, Ferry?

Let me give an example of how a cancer Moon would react. I was in this situation and someone hurt someone I love. Then, the person who hurt him wanted to be MY friend. I made it clear that she was no friend of mine. I cut her off like you would a tumor. I am like that when I care for someone. If you hurt them, you hurt me. I am a cancer moon and mars. I am just like this but I like it about myself and do not want to change because I think it is an asset.

I got a bit lost. I meant for you – you said, at the top of this article:

I admire people who are in touch with their emotions. I struggle to know what I am feeling.

And I wanted to know what that’s like, struggling to ‘know’ what you are feeling. What do you mean when you say that?

            🙂

Oh, I see, Ferry. Yes, it is easy to get lost in the Comment section lol Well, it is more of a not trusting of oneself, I suppose. For me, it was also a numbing of my emotions from trauma, so I did not really know what they were, For example, I could not have anger as a child, so I don’t know what it is when I feel it, sometimes. I think it is guilt or sadness. Do you see what I mean?

  3. amiannLesley

    Hi Ami,
I too have my moon square sun and can fully agree with Nick when he commented that it will cause moodiness. In my experience, I feel an inability to express my feelings as I feel them, and I have trouble hiding emotions, especially sadness, embarrassment, etc. An older male friend once said to me that I was na

      1. amiannLesley

YES !!! Ami, I have battled this all of my life. In some situations I use avoidance just to get away from my feelings. Sadness is just WAY too strong that I can’t be around anyone, or I feel Guilt for someone’s negative feelings towards me. Just too much feeling in me for my comfort.

          1. amiannamiann Post author

Yes, Lesley. I know. I ask myself questions like that, too. My only answer would be that He knew what would break our egos enough to bring us to Him. So, it was out of love.

I have Sun opposite Moon. It is a constant power struggle between the 2 natures. But like 2 sides of the same coin, you cannot have one without the other.

I think the opposition gives you a unique view of self. But it is objective. And best summed up as “Head vs. Heart”

  5. amiannStella

I cannot speak for anyone else: but I know a Double Cancer and Double Capricorn. They FEEL everything with such intensity. There is NO shutting off the emotion connectivity. And at times it can be a burden for them, I would imagine. Especially if there is something painful happening to them.

  6. amiannamiann Post author

I have learned so much from this poll. I think that some Moons should not be with other Moons, as close friends or anything.

I truly have taken things personally that were just how a person thought and processed loyalty.

That being said, I would not want to go through it again. Knowing moons is a good way to avoid this.

  7. amiannEva

I completely agree with comment from ferryleaf. That’s how I feel it.
My 4th house Sun is in trine with my Moon and it is like my conscious is hand in hand with my subconscious, it’s like good communication between husband and wife, nothing is swept under the carpet.
And I agree with you too Ami about the Moon thing. It’s definitely good to check who’s moon is where before we completely open up to someone, not only in synastry but in any kind of relationship to avoid disappointing slap in the face.

  8. amiannLon Spector

I have Moon trune Sun. They say that the male/female aspects of your behavior are
much more balanced with this placement.
I’m much more “female” then male. Maybe that’s who sociopathic women hold such an
attraction for me. They are the most macho of women.

  9. amiannLon Spector

The reason why men and women are attracted to each other despite very
obvious differences in make up and temperment is because of the Yin/Yang principle.
Differences in polarity that counter balance one another. In most cases it is true that,
“It’s not right that a man should be alone.” Christ had to deal with this too, because “He
was tried and tested in all things as we are, yet without sin.”
You can bet that Christ DID NOT marry Mary Magdiline, as some misguided postulaters
    try to imply.

  10. amiannLon Spector

We suffer because we are presently in a dark era. (Eion). Christ told Piolt ,
“My Kingdom is NOT of this world, otherwise my servants would fight to keep me
from being delivered to the Jews.”
We confuse the word “world” with “time.” What Christ actually said was, “My kingdom
is not of this TIME, otherwise my servants would fight…” They WILL fight at His
    second coming.

  11. amiannLon Spector

An “age” is a time period that has a definate beginning and end. Christ was telling
Ponteous Pilot that His Kingdom was not of Pilot’s time (2,000 years ago) because His
followers would fight to keep Him from being crucified.
When Christ DOES return the second time, He will return as a conquering King and His
followers will fight along side him.
