What is Self Esteem For a Christian

Self esteem is different for those who are not Christians, or it should be. Self esteem, for a Christian, should be in one’s relationship with Jesus. It would be as if you had the best boyfriend. Your sense of self came from the fact that he thought you were the most beautiful girl in the world. You took your value from the fact that he loved you. He loved you with all your flaws, even if you never changed any of them. How we all long for that. How we look high and low for it. It seems like it cannot be found. I have not found it, speaking for myself. When I meditate on God’s love, it feels good. It feels unlike anything the world has to offer.
