Ten Soul Mate or Love Asteroids

A picSomeone asked me to do a synastry which did not have much soul. She asked me if that was the final word on the subject. I said that there are soul mate asteroids. That is the subject of this article. It seems that asteroids can overcome a natal chart without soul. That is a very direct way to say it but I try to say things in a direct way, so that they are easy to understand.

With that in mind, I would like to talk about some very powerful soul mate asteroids. If these conjunct personal planets or angles, they can be major powerhouses. However, the orb must be very close. It needs to be close to exact. I will fudge up to three degrees but it is a fudge. With asteroids, one should really have them exact to two degrees and two degrees is wide.

I relate the asteroids  to spices. Each spice is quite different but some are more alike than others. I have a garden, so can talk from experience. Rosemary is very different from spearmint but not as different from thyme. Oregano is different than sage but not that different. Each spice is truly unique with a unique flavor.

The same can be said for each and every asteroid. There are many different sides to love. There are many different sides to sexuality. The asteroids will show all.

I don’t look as  much at asteroids conjunct each other. They do matter, to some degree, as does everything in the charts. However, the powerhouses are asteroids conjunct personal  parts of the chart. I define personal parts of a chart as any of the Angles–the Ascendent, IC, Descendent and MC. This would include the following planets, as well—Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus and Mars. I do use Saturn and Jupiter, too. However, they are not as vital to the soul mate relationship as the personal planets, in my opinion. All things count in a chart but one must weight them in order to get the most accurate results.

1.Valentine- (447)-— Valentine is the kind of sacrificial love  in which  the lover will throw himself in front of the bus to protect his beloved. It is not a sexual asteroid, per se. It is an asteroid of pure love. Valentine thinks of his beloved before himself.

One could say that is is an agape kind of love. God loved us first when we were not worthy of love, according to the Bible.  We did not deserve it. He gave it because He is love.  I did not mean to get off on agape love here but Valentine reminds me of this and hence, I think it will make a good point that you will remember.

2. Eros(433)-— With Eros, the lovers inspire erotic feelings in each other. Love is not the issue here. Erotic feelings are. There may or may not be love. That would be shown by other parts of the chart.

3. Vesta(4)-–Vesta is not  soul mate, per se. It could be in the charts of close friends or family members, as well as lovers. Vesta is sacrificial love, once again. However, it is not a throw yourself under the bus as much as a service kind of love. It is selfless service. Think of the woman who carries a baby as a surrogate mother for a woman who cannot have children. That would be an example of selfless service. When you see someone helping  another person out of a pure heart and little thought for themselves, that would be the embodiment of Vesta.

4.Ceres- (1)-Ceres is not a soul mate asteroid, per se. It can be found in the charts of close friends, family, as well as lovers. Ceres is the unconditional love of a mother for her child. Think of a breastfeeding mother and you will have a picture of Ceres. If I had to link Ceres to planets , it would be the love of Moon/Pluto.

Ceres is the mother who does not think of herself, but the needs of her beloved child. Watch your synastry. Ceres feels quite unique. I can tell when I have it in synastry with someone. I feel very free to just be myself because I feel I will be loved, no matter what. That is the essence of Ceres.

5.Pallas (2)—Pallas is not a soul mate asteroid, per se. Pallas is great wisdom as had the elders of the Indian tribes. Pallas in synastry will show that one partner brings a great deal of maturity and common sense  to the other. Love  is complex. It must have depth and soul to last. That is why I put non sexual asteroids as soul mate asteroids. Soul mates share heart love. That is what makes them so beautiful.

6. Apollo (1862)–Apollo is not a deep love. If one person’s chart touches the Apollo of another, the planet person will worship the Apollo person. The planet person will feel as if he found a true Greek god or goddess. This can be very lovely

7. Child (4580)—-I love the Child asteroid. I love Moon trine Moon. I love Moon conjunct Moon. If anyone asks me if they have a soul mate chart, I will go right to the moons. I will decide from the moons, only, in many cases. That is how much the Moons mean to me. I think one’s Moon is one’s soul. A soul to soul connection is what soul mates are all about.

The Child Asteroid is our inner child. When it touches a personal part of another person’s chart, one may feel as if he can act like a child again. Love is child to child. Hence, if you had to substitute an asteroid for a planet, I would substitute the Child asteroid for the Moon. Look and see what your Child asteroid touches in the chart of your beloved. Once you know how it feels, you will be able to pick this up with  other people, whether they be lovers of friends.

8. Lilith (1181)–-Lilith is raw sexuality, to me. There are several forms of Lilith. I use the asteroid Lilith. Raw sexuality is a glue which bonds soul mates. God made it for us and hence, it is important and not any lesser than the other asteroids. If one person’s Lilith touches a personal part of another person’s chart, both will feel it. Both will have a raw sexual attraction to each other.

Juno ( 3)--Juno is not a sexual asteroid, per se. It is the purest love of a devoted wife for her husband. If one sees couples who have been together for many years and they have that old familiar kind of devotion, that would personify Juno. Juno has the character to do what is right, even though one may want to do what is wrong.

Juno reflects the spouse who sticks through the hard times. Anyone can stay when the passion is high. Character is needed to endure the hard times. Endurance and fidelity reflect the lovely nature of Juno.

10. Alma (390)-   Alma means soul in Spanish. Alma would be like the Moon. When the Alma asteroid touches a personal planet of the other, there will be a depth of knowing the person, such as one finds with Moon aspects.

Hi Ami! Do trines and squares have an effect especially if they are exact or 1 degree. And what about nodes of the moon touching asteroids?

      Welcome Sassaphy!
Conjunctions are the strongest of any aspect. This is because they are the closest like sitting next to a roaring fire. The other aspects must be a very small orb( less than 2 degrees) and will never be as powerful as the conjunction.

I don’t know Ami, whatever you sees as a strong aspect? 🙂

This has been one of the most enriching, and self-healing relationship ever, and perhaps the first of it’s kind to me. Love, Respect, and mutual nurturing, but there are challenges as well, which are more learning and releasing the hurt from the past experience.

If you could pick the top 4 aspects you want me to look at and write them here, I would love to help. The whole list is just too long for me to do each and every one. I hope you understand xx

    Hi Ami
I was wandering if you could help me understand these synastry aspects?
    A woman’s sun conjunct a man’s valentine 3 degree in his 4th house
A woman’s north node sextile valentine 3 degree in his 4th house
    A woman’s apollo conjunct a man’s vesta in his 7th house 1 degree
    A woman’s sun opposite a man’s north node 3 degree
    A man’s juno trine a woman’s eros in her 8th house 2 degree

  5. amiannYes that's me hello hello

Intresting ! Thanks for this article ! I have learned 4 new asteroids !
My “child” is conjunct to my Venus, same degree ; my Valentine is conjunct to my Pluto, also at the same degree…

  6. amiannSim

I have heard that conjunction and oppositions are strongest in Juno aspects in synastry. What’s your take on that. How square and opposition play out between Venus and Juno in synastry. I can imagine Venus and Juno feeling a pull towards each other probably in opposition, but will Venus and Juno like each other in a square? 🙂

  7. amiannelle

I love your description of Ceres in relationship; I haven’t heard it elsewhere but that’s exactly how it feels having Ceres trine Moon double whammy with someone, which becomes Moon conjunct Ceres in both the composite (0°01′) and Davison (3°). I always attributed this feeling mainly to a double-whammy Venus trine Jupiter, which is also lovely, plus Sun opp Sun (being SEEN by each other), but add this aspect to that mix and it all make sense on a deeper level. It’s like an unwavering soul-link that sees with love and compassion everything both on and under the surface, and accepts the other person with all their warts, even when other aspects between us might simultaneously feel awkward, or irritating, or mystifying, or too intense. And a brief glance can contain an entire, usually reassuring conversation. It’s like being met at the door with your favorite comfort food on a cold night after a long day—although that interpretation may also have a little something to do with my Moon and Ceres being in Taurus!

      1. amiannCecilia Dafheim

Hi Ami! I have Sun ( 13°) conjunct Ceres (14°) in Pisces) also my NN is ( 11°). How was your experience in that relationship from those aspects you described in that long termed relationship? Ok I am female and in your situation it was opposite.
Also another question. What kind of effects can Ceres conjunct Karma have in synastry? My recent love interest person and I have that conjunction. Also his Karma in Pisces (2°) is conjunct my Juno(2°)/Amor(2°)/MC ( 29°)…
My Mercury is ( 27°) Too wide orb to Karma but how to think when I have this conjunction
        MC/ Mercury myself?
And general when you have conjunctions with an asteroid and then further conjunctions but not to the asteroid because of too wide orb?

        1. amiannamiann Post author

You sound like an amazing person with Ceres/Sun and NN. This is a very loving person! Karma is fate and so these are very nice aspects to have. With the asteroids, I allow 2-3 in a conjunction.

  8. amiannaquasc

    Hi Ami!
I’d like to ask you what you think about these synastry aspects:
    – his eros conjunct my sun-neptune (2°-0°) in aqua
    – his child conjunct my IC (0°) in pisces
    – his lilith conjunct my mars-jupiter (2°-0°) in aqua
    – his alma conjunct my sun-uranus (0°-3°) in aqua
    – my eros conjunct his nn (0°) in scorpio

  9. amiannKaren H.

This is so lovely- I will keep referring to this! One question- with Valentine, is Valentine the beloved and the planet is the lover, the other way around, or it’s mutual? In this case, it’s Valentine conjunct Sun. thank you

  11. amiannMaja

I can’t find anything on sextile and trine with Valentine. This guy I like has his Valentine sextile my sun orb 1 and his Valentine trine my Ascendant exact. If you have time, can you tell me something about these two aspects? 🙂

      1. amiannMaja

Thank you so much for your answer <3 His Apollo conjuncts my Asc at 2 degrees and sextile my sun exact. Would he still have the worship feeling or is an orb of 2 too wide? :/

  12. amiannVeab

Hello! I am very interested in checking out the asteroids in a new relationship that has both wonderful and challenging planetary aspects. I was looking at an ephemeris for the asteroids, and it is very hard for me to figure out what the placement of the 10 asteroids is for either of our birthdays. Is there somewhere EASY and free to access this info? On Astro.com., it doesn’t list all of the asteroids that you mentioned above.

Thank you so much for this work!

    God bless…

  13. amiannMarie

This is a very helpful article! Thank you Amiann. It came to my attention because i just realised that i have Valentine exact conjunct my Sun at 1 Pisces. Figures ! I see God in everyone but please no more psychopaths to love.

  14. amiannStacie

    Hi Amiann
Could you please give an overall perspective on how these asteroids to personal planets/angles would work in synastry:
    His amor conjunct my venus
    His Valentine conjunct my venus
My amor conjunct his north node
    His Eros conjunct my mars
    His lust conjunct my mars
    His dejanira conjunct my ASC
    My lilith trine his venus
My lilith sesquiquadrate his moon (does this count?)
    All 2 degrees and under.
I’m also very worried about one aspect: his nessus square my dejanira.

    Thank you x

  15. amiannSonja

Can you say if Valentines EXACTLY BY 20 minutes conj to someone else’s valentine?
    We are not same age..
but he has valentine conj my sun by 4 degree and part of fortune by 0 degree too..

  16. amiannAbby

Hi Ami! I met someone a few months ago and have been getting closer with them lately. We really seem to get each other. I haven’t been able to research a ton of asteroids and aspects, but I know we have moons conjunct, valentine conjunct moon, eros conjunct psyche, psyche conjunct venus, eros conjunct venus… these are ones that stood out to me. And these are all within one degree or exact. Just thought I’d share – thank you for the post 🙂

    Hi Ami
I’m struggling to find anything out about Amor conjunct Lilith and also Alma conjunct Nodes or Chiron. Any thoughts appreciated!

    1. amiannamiann Post author

The first one could be love with passion. Alma is soul and a real mutual understanding so super good to conjunct the nodes but not Chiron because this would bring pain and a thwart to the understanding.

      1. amiannLJ

Thanks! I meant Alma conjunct NN and Uranus not Chiron! Sorry I’m being a clutz!! Also his Lilith conjunct my IC (as well as my Lilith conjunct his Amor – which is exactly as you say :-))

  18. amiannLJ

Alma would be his bringing soul to you like simpatico. Uranus conj NN shake up the NN person like forces him to change who he is.

Lilith conj the IC is a super sexy relationship that is deep sexually

  19. amiannMoonchild

Thank you so much for the valuable information you offer us…❤ What does it mean if someone’s Valentine conjuncts exactly our MC? And exact oppositions and squares including asteroids how differently could play out than a conjunction?🙏

  20. amiannVeronica

I went to search up some of these asteroids you mentioned in my synastry chart w/ my boyfriend…
-His child conjuncts my sun, which exactly conjuncts his ascendant.
-His alma exactly conjuncts my IC
-My alma conjunct his Saturn in my seventh house, and his saturn conjuncts my ascendant.
-We both have venus- eros conjunctions that fall in each other’s 1st house.
-His Lilith conjuncts my moon. I have read some terrifying things about it on other websites. But I don’t think it impacts us too much because we both have Lilith square AC —His Lilith conjuncts his midheaven, and my Lilith conjuncts my IC.
