Simple Questions Series–Why Can’t The World Make You Happy?

Everyone has probably asked this question. Everyone has tried to get happiness from things in the world. It is natural to want to be happy and look around and try to figure out how. Has anything of the world brought you long term happiness? The closest thing I found without Jesus was peace of mind when I had a period of good self esteem. Once that period passed, I pursued what the world told me would make me happy. I had joy. I had great moments but they did not last. The world cannot make us happy because I don’t think it or we were designed that way. If it could, we would not seek God. Perhaps, unhappiness can be the greatest gift.
