If You Have Bad Luck Do You Just Have To Live With It?

girl chessThis question is a valid one. Bad luck falls under the category of  fears, addictions, obsessions and all manner of angst. Let’s look at this from two perspectives. For the person who does not have Jesus as his Lord and Savior, I do not see hope for him, not real hope. There are palliative measures, such as psychology  but I don’t think any of them work. There is no true power. They are impotent such as if one wanted to use a sugar pill instead of  a potent drug. If you don’t have Jesus as your Lord and Savior, I can’t help you. If you do, I can.

Let’s talk about this. Take a person who feels bad luck follows him everywhere. Is there such a thing as bad luck? Yes. Can it be overcome and turned into good luck? YES, a resounding yes. I will tell you how. First of all, one must study the Bible. One must know what one has been given by the New Birth. One has been given rights and privileges. It is as if one has been given a whole new set of super powers but one must USE them. If not, they stay dormant. If one has a million dollars in the bank, but doesn’t use it, one would live in poverty. One must go to the bank and withdraw it. Until that time, one will be poor. That is the point. The person who does not know how to access his new rights and privileges will be as poor as the millionaire with his money locked in the bank.

Let’s see what he can do? First of all, he must find a good Bible teacher. The teacher cannot be fluff like Joel Osteen or Joyce Meier. The teacher cannot be depressed like Charles Stanley. I am just being honest here because I have never seen anyone get better with these teachers. I think the first two are false teachers  but that is for another day. So, one must find a teacher who has sound Biblical doctrine. Three of these are Arnold Fructenbaum, Les Fedlick and Keneth E. Hagin. Each has his own style. I listened to each in the order I  listed them. I would never have liked Kenneth E Hagin when I first found Jesus. He was too hick for me. I am just being honest. I needed an intellectual teacher like Arnold. Arnold is a true scholar. He has a Masters Degree in Hebrew and Greek. Arnold is a very clear teacher. He shows the derivation of words. He shows the unity of the Bible. He is very interesting and funny. I have listened to most of his teachings. He is a Rolls Royce.

Les Feldick is very interesting and one can study the whole Bible from Genesis to Revelation with him. He is very clear and very like Arnold but with a different style.

Kenneth E Hagin has the most heart of any person I have ever known. I don’t know him, per se, but he has changed my life more than any single person. If I have any good part of me that shines forth, I owe it to him, in terms of  owing a human being.

Beware of teachers who are not sound in Bible doctrine or you could go far astray. That has happened to two people I know. It is very sad but there is nothing one can do. They think they have “better” teachings than the Bible. They think they have more esoteric understanding. They think they are way ahead of simple people who follow the Bible, only. In reality, they are deceived. They may not be saved, even.

After one finds a good Bible teacher, one must study spiritual warfare. There is a spirit world of both dark and light. The dark spirit world has rules under which it operates. If one does not know the rules, one will be controlled by the dark forces. One may have great faith in Jesus but this will not help. One needs actual spiritual weapons. Think of an actual war, one may have faith  but that will not help one win. One must take up arms. There are very specific arms one must take up. That will be the subject I will discuss next.

How does one fight the devil, specifically? The answer is that one must know one’s position in Christ. If I was the president, I would have powers based on my position. I would be the Commander in Chief. I could write executive orders. I could do what the law allowed me to do. The very same thing exists for those who are God’s children as a direct result of the New Birth. For people who are not Born Again, this does not apply. They are not God’s children. I know this sounds harsh to say but the Bible tells it like it is. I am just teaching the Bible, not giving my own opinion.

Hence, if a person is Born Again, that person has the Holy Spirit inside of him. He has God, Himself, inside of him. THIS is what confers the weapons with which to fight. It is not his own power. That is impotent. It is his position in Christ.

Kenneth Hagin has a CD series on our position in Christ. I will try to recap what he says to the best of my ability. I have studied this subject from other teachers and Hagin is very much superior to any teacher, in my opinion. First of all, one potent weapon is the name of Jesus. Any evil force must flee if we tell it to do so, in the name of Jesus. It may come back. The Bible says that it may come back stronger. This can be a problem for those who cast out demons but don’t know how to keep them out.

One keeps out the demons by moving one’s mind from the carnal world to the spiritual world. One does this by immersing oneself in the Bible and by BELIEVING what it says. There are many cases where someone cast out demons but did not sweep their house clean i.e make oneself have as sold out a life as possible to God. In these cases, the demons can come back much stronger. So, after one casts out the demons, one must clean up one’s life so the demons don’t have openings to come in, again. Let me do a brief review, one casts out demons with the name of Jesus or by the blood of Jesus. They have to leave. That is a spiritual law.

So, lets identify demons. Anything that hurts us is from the dark side. This would be low self esteem, over eating, over drinking, drugs, porn, hatred, jealousy, bitterness, envy, ego in all it’s forms and anything else that hurts one. For some people, fear will be their problem. For some people, they may feel as if they are cursed with bad luck in that nothing ever works out. Remember, curses are from the dark side. One has power over the dark side. That is the point of this article and I will elaborate.

To recap, if one feels cursed, one must identify the specific curses. For example, if one cannot make enough money. One must say out loud” I cast off the curse of poverty in the name of Jesus”  The curse will have to leave! At that point, one must act as if it already left because it did, in the spiritual realm. We can command the forces of darkness to do our bidding. This power is from our position as God’s children. So, one has cast out the curse. One must force oneself to change the inroads of thinking in which one has stayed for many years. One may feel as if one is a failure. Those grooves of thinking are programmed into the brain as one would program a computer. The only thing that will change the program is the Word of God. One must combat the old thoughts with the Scripture. One should use Scripture that pertains to one’s situation, specifically.

Let me see if I can use a practical example. If one feels as if one has bad luck, as if everything is blocked, jobs, relationships etc, what should be do? He should cast out any forces that are blocking him. Then, he needs to find Scriptures for success. There are many Scriptures for success. I will look up some and add them as a footnote. The person needs to program his mind with the Scriptures because his thinking has been in error for a long time, most likely. This is called a strong hold. A strong hold is a long held belief that is against the Word of God. It is against the Word of God that  a child of God is cursed. It is a lie. Satan will try to hurt one if one follows God. However, Satan can be cast off as a president would cast off a sniper. The sniper cannot get access to the president if the president protects himself with what he has at his disposal. It is the same for the child of God, exactly the same!

I found a great little page with Scriptures for Success. There are Scriptures for any problem because the Bible is our guide to all problems in life.

                                                     45 Bible Verses about Success

Philippians 4:13

I can do all things through him who strengthens me.

Delight yourself in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart.

Proverbs 3:1-4

My son, do not forget my teaching, but let your heart keep my commandments, for length of days and years of life and peace they will add to you. Matthew 6:25-33

“Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink, nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing? Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? And which of you by being anxious can add a single hour to his span of life? And why are you anxious about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin, yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.

1 Kings 2:3

And keep the charge of the Lord your God, walking in his ways and keeping his statutes, his commandments, his rules, and his testimonies, as it is written in the Law of Moses, that you may prosper in all that you do and wherever you turn,

Proverbs 3:5

Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding.

Joshua 1:5-9

No man shall be able to stand before you all the days of your life. Just as I was with Moses, so I will be with you. I will not leave you or forsake you. Be strong and courageous, for you shall cause this people to inherit the land that I swore to their fathers to give them. Only be strong and very courageous, being careful to do according to all the law that Moses my servant commanded you. Do not turn from it to the right hand or to the left, that you may have good success wherever you go. This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success. Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.

Matthew 16:26

For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world and forfeits his soul? Or what shall a man give in return for his soul?

Luke 16:10-11

“One who is faithful in a very little is also faithful in much, and one who is dishonest in a very little is also dishonest in much. If then you have not been faithful in the unrighteous wealth, who will entrust to you the true riches?

Romans 12:2

Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.

Psalm 1:1-6

Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the wicked, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of scoffers; but his delight is in the law of the Lord, and on his law he meditates day and night. He is like a tree planted by streams of water that yields its fruit in its season, and its leaf does not wither. In all that he does, he prospers. The wicked are not so, but are like chaff that the wind drives away. Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous;

Philippians 4:6

Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.

Galatians 5:22-23

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.

Deuteronomy 8:18

Genesis 39:2-6

The Lord was with Joseph, and he became a successful man, and he was in the house of his Egyptian master. His master saw that the Lord was with him and that the Lord caused all that he did to succeed in his hands. So Joseph found favor in his sight and attended him, and he made him overseer of his house and put him in charge of all that he had. From the time that he made him overseer in his house and over all that he had the Lord blessed the Egyptian’s house for Joseph’s sake; the blessing of the Lord was on all that he had, in house and field. So he left all that he had in Joseph’s charge, and because of him he had no concern about anything but the food he ate. Now Joseph was handsome in form and appearance.

Ephesians 4:32

Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you.

John 16:33

I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.”

1 Timothy 4:12

Let no one despise you for your youth, but set the believers an example in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith, in purity.

1 Timothy 6:1-21

Let all who are under a yoke as slaves regard their own masters as worthy of all honor, so that the name of God and the teaching may not be reviled. Those who have believing masters must not be disrespectful on the ground that they are brothers; rather they must serve all the better since those who benefit by their good service are believers and beloved. Teach and urge these things. If anyone teaches a different doctrine and does not agree with the sound words of our Lord Jesus Christ and the teaching that accords with godliness, he is puffed up with conceit and understands nothing. He has an unhealthy craving for controversy and for quarrels about words, which produce envy, dissension, slander, evil suspicions, and constant friction among people who are depraved in mind and deprived of the truth, imagining that godliness is a means of gain.

Jeremiah 17:7

“Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, whose trust is the Lord.

Proverbs 20:7-10

The righteous who walks in his integrity— blessed are his children after him! A king who sits on the throne of judgment winnows all evil with his eyes. Who can say, “I have made my heart pure; I am clean from my sin”? Unequal weights and unequal measures are both alike an abomination to the Lord.

Ecclesiastes 5:3

For a dream comes with much business, and a fool’s voice with many words.

Habakkuk 2:3

For still the vision awaits its appointed time; it hastens to the end—it will not lie. If it seems slow, wait for it; it will surely come; it will not delay.

Proverbs 3:3

Let not steadfast love and faithfulness forsake you; bind them around your neck; write them on the tablet of your heart.

Genesis 1:28

And God blessed them. And God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth and subdue it and have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over every living thing that moves on the earth.”

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.

Ecclesiastes 5:1-3

Guard your steps when you go to the house of God. To draw near to listen is better than to offer the sacrifice of fools, for they do not know that they are doing evil. Be not rash with your mouth, nor let your heart be hasty to utter a word before God, for God is in heaven and you are on earth. Therefore let your words be few. For a dream comes with much business, and a fool’s voice with many words.

2 Timothy 3:16

All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness,

Matthew 5:18

For truly, I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not an iota, not a dot, will pass from the Law until all is accomplished.

Matthew 1:2-6

Abraham was the father of Isaac, and Isaac the father of Jacob, and Jacob the father of Judah and his brothers, and Judah the father of Perez and Zerah by Tamar, and Perez the father of Hezron, and Hezron the father of Ram, and Ram the father of Amminadab, and Amminadab the father of Nahshon, and Nahshon the father of Salmon, and Salmon the father of Boaz by Rahab, and Boaz the father of Obed by Ruth, and Obed the father of Jesse, and Jesse the father of David the king. Bring the full tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. And thereby put me to the test, says the Lord of hosts, if I will not open the windows of heaven for you and pour down for you a blessing until there is no more need. I will rebuke the devourer for you, so that it will not destroy the fruits of your soil, and your vine in the field shall not fail to bear, says the Lord of hosts.

James 1:17

Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change.

Luke 10:20-21

Nevertheless, do not rejoice in this, that the spirits are subject to you, but rejoice that your names are written in heaven.” In that same hour he rejoiced in the Holy Spirit and said, “I thank you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that you have hidden these things from the wise and understanding and revealed them to little children; yes, Father, for such was your gracious will.

I have tried to address this subject to the best of my ability but I am nothing like Kenneth Hagin in his CD on our position in Christ. He may have a book on this, too. I listen to the CDs more than read his books. It is free on U Tube, most likely. Please, feel free to ask any questions on my Comment Form.

PS Please forgive the typos. I will be back to fix them
