As an astrologer, this is one of the questions I get. The chart shows all. It can, even, show one person wanting more than friendship and the other wanting, friendship. However, in the majority of cases, a chart is clear as to what level of relationship will be allowed, so to speak. For a fling, a strong Uranus is present. Uranus rules abrupt starts and stops. It has an electrical attraction as in rules electricity . When one person’s Uranus aspects another’s personal planets, there is electrical attraction. However, will it last? If the synastry is rife with pure attraction aspects, my answer would be “No”. Certain asteroids are attraction asteroids. These would include Eros, Sappho,Cupido, Cassanova and Apollo. Each asteroid has a different twist. However, all deal with that “zing”. Eros is pure eroticism. Sappho is eroticism combined with the arts. Cupido is the look of love to entrap another, with no intention of heart love. Apollo is the attraction of pure beauty, which is more inner than outer, but can be outer,of course, as well. If the chart has a preponderance of attraction aspects and few soul mate aspects, it does not bode well for when the attraction fades, and it always does. Sigh
Ah yes whenever I seem to connect with a guy and know his birth info, right away I’m thinking what are the clues!?…and where is this going? And I have those questions like boyfriend material? fling material? Will it even get to that point? Thanks for the insight Ami.

Soul mate aspects would be any that produce tenderness between people. The attraction asteroids and planets produce attraction and lust, one could say. However, the tenderness aspects produce heart. Planet wise, one would need moon connections. Moon trine moon would be the best, imo. Any easy aspect with moons would produce heart understanding.This goes for any friend. Asteroid wise, Valentine is sacrificial love.Juno is loyal, devoted and committed love. Ceres is unconditional love as a mother for a child. If one does not have soul mate aspects, I can’t see it being more than a fling.
