The Flesh and The Spirit

crossed handsI seem mired in the flesh a bit. My last story wrote itself in one of the strangest and most wonderful experiences I have had. It took my mind and my hands and told me what it wanted me to say. I have never surfed, being afraid of dangerous sports. However, I bet that is how one feels when one rides a wave. Sometimes, when I play music with another person, I ride the same kind of a wave. One transcends one’s finite self, mind and body. I imagine that is what drugs feel like but I have not used them,. One of my favorite authors is Carlos Castenada. He takes you into a magical world in which reality shifts.

My article was about the the longings of the flesh. The flesh can yearn like the howls of the wolves. The flesh is powerful. It’s desires are powerful. They can get you into a lot of trouble and they do. For the human, he is both flesh and spirit. The flesh is the body and the mind. This would include the personality, Anything we can access with our five senses is the flesh.

We cannot feel our own spirit. People use the words soul and spirit interchangeably but they are very, very different according to the Bible, worlds apart, actually. I will try to explain here. As long as one is on this earth, one will deal with the flesh. One will have needs of the flesh like food and sleep. One will have desires of the flesh such as popularity, beauty and riches.

I will share one of my best OBE’s( out of body experiences). It was one in which I was very conscious of what I was doing. This was my favorite one and the one I remember most. I was flying over a body of water. The people were Asian. They were in the water with surfboards and wind sails. It was a beautiful day. I was flying overhead. I kept repeating, “It doesn’t hurt anymore”. I felt total peace. I had never felt that way before.I have woken up from OBEs homesick. I don’t know what I was homesick for, exactly. I think it was for the loss of the ego.

My ego seems heavy, lately. I have had glimpses of letting it go. They made me feel free. Then, when I fly a bit without it, I fall with a thud and take it back. The more I lose it, the more I see how heavy it is to carry.

Lon left me a comment that he did not understand this concept. Most people don’t, even Bible teachers. It is a very misunderstood concept. However, it can set one free. That is why I keep coming back to it.

I will be back

Be careful Ami! There is a definate correlation between people who believe in
    O.B.E.’s and reincarntion,
Who’s that fellow, Robert Monroe who wrote about his O.B.E. experiences in the
book “Journies Out Of The Body?” The idea that you can leave your body is routed in
Eastern religions and reincarnation is part and parcel of those belief systems.
There could be many explainations for the belief that one has “left” their body,
including vivid dreams, or being in a hypnotic state. (You don’t always need the presence
of a hypnatist, to lapse into a hypnotic state.) These phony hypnatists are not only
regressing people back to thier “prior” lives, but to their “prior” alien abduction experiences!

Thank you, Lon dear. The Orthodox rabbis say a nightly prayer to keep your “soul” safe in it’s nightly journeys. OBEs are part of the human.

We all have them but most people are not conscious. I read Robert Monroe. I have read most of the books on them.

The OBE is the same as the NDE except for you can come back 😀

    Dear Ami,
As you know, my experience with computers is VERY limited. I run into brick walls
VERY frenquently. There’s this guy, I don’t know whether you’ve heard of him named
Stephan Pickering/Chofetz Chayim benAvraham. He proports to be a Judaic Scholar.
He is a champion of Casey Anthony’s innocence. When I tried to trace him, I could
only find scattered postings around the net. Though someone of that name did write a
book about the singer Bob Dylan. If you could find some spare time, could you look him
up for me? He might also have information you might find useful.
He IS on Facebook. but I am not regestered for Facebook. I tried to go on very briefly but
didn’t last too long because I have no “social history” having never been on computers
before the age of 54. Nobody wanted to speak to me, and it seemed enourmously
complicated. Better not to court trouble.!

Of course, Lon. I will help you. I am going out this morning and have a Christmas party at my house this Fri, so may not embark on it for a few days but, it will be my pleasure to try to help!

Aww How so, Lon? You are so sweet to say forgive me. I am touched. Do you want to talk about it? Did you see the comment addressed to you, yesterday. A guy was asking if he lost his salvation. I am not sure where it is now. I am getting so many comments, which I love, but when I answer here, it is not on the article, so can get confusing. See if you can find it, Lon dear.

    Ami,
I was unable to log in on the 21st because carpet was being layed in my house.
As you know EVERYTHING has to be moved. I lost an extension cord I needed
to plug in the computer. I try never to miss a day logging in.
Salvation can not be lost. When we accept Jesus Christ in a heartfelt way, we are SEALED
with the Holy Spirit. However, it is possible to “grieve” the Spirit. God will give a person a
certain “grace period” of misbehavior. but if the person persists in wicked behavior, the
functionings of the Spirit will eventually cease. When this happens, the person is cut off
from intimate connection with God. It’s just a matter of time and place how the individual
will be destroyed. He was the “salt of the earth, and the salt has lost it’s savor.”
It’s possible that if the person has material resources, he may stave off physical destruction
for a time; But for all intents and purposes, the ex-christian now belongs to Satan, and will
be destroyed in a way Satan deems fit. But bare in mind that God is ALL powerful, so it’s
    very much an individual thing.
The “big” things of our lives, our births, genders, the length of our lives, and how we affect
other people are ALL known and regulated by God. Nothing ultimately occurs unless
ALMIGHTY God allows it to happen. We have REGULATED free will. We can’t get away
with EVERYTHING. Not ALL intention is fulfilled. Remember, Christ asked the Father to
remove the “cup” (responsibilty) of the crucification from Him. God would not because
Christ had to give His life to complete His mission.
The fate of the “unpardonable sinner” is to undergo “The second death” in a Lake of Fire.”
(The Dead Sea in the south of Israel. The lowest spot on earth incidently.)
Even the few subjected to this death will be forgiven, though it will be very horrifying to
    undergo.
Death and Hell will be placed placed in the Lake of Fire and everything in the death state
will be brought back. The Bible refers to Death as an enemy and says, “The last enemy to
    be destroyed will be DEATH.

Welcome back, Lon! I was so happy that someone came and asked the question. Now, I am not sure where the question is to show you. You should see it if you look on the articlesabout God.

  4. amiannLon Spector

Christ lived and died on a preordained mission to spread abundant life through out
the entire universe and He suceeded because He was raised from the dead!
